Dune movie India Release Date

Warner Bros. India’s official Twitter account has confirmed that Dune is getting a theatrical release in our country. Dune’s release date in India is 22 October 2021. This is the same release date as in the USA.

Note: Dune will release on 29 October 2021 in Maharashtra, one week later than in other states.

It also has an amazing cast assembled of Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya.

Most of the Dune cast also have appeared in Marvel and DC superhero movies, so you might be familiar with them.

Dune’s release date in India on 22 October is a relief for many fans who want to watch this movie on the big screen because of its stunning visual effects and cinematography.

It is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who also have directed critically acclaimed movies like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049.

The trailers also emphasise the fact that it is a Visual masterpiece.

Dune 3D and IMAX Update

Yes, Dune will be released in 3D and IMAX format also. The movie is post-converted to 3D and for IMAX 3D. But the most important thing is that it is shot completely with IMAX-certified ARRI LF cameras.

Dune will have both 1.90:1 and 1.43:1 aspect ratios footage in IMAX. Around 60 minutes of the movie is in a 1.43:1 ratio for big screens.

Dune release with Hindi Dub?

Yes, it will be. It is now confirmed that Dune will be dubbed in Hindi. But bad news for our South Indian fans, it will be not dubbed in Tamil or Telugu.

So, Dune will be available in India only in English and Hindi languages. Also, Venom 2 will be released in India in the Hindi language as well.

What is the OTT platform for Dune in India?

It will be streamed on the ‘Amazon Prime Video’ streaming platform. The movie will be released on OTT on 25 March 2022. This is confirmed by Prime Video’s official tweet.

In the US & some other countries where the HBO MAX service is available, it was digitally released on the same day as the theatrical release date.

Dune is an adaptation of a best-selling fiction novel by Frank Herbert. The book was published in 1965 and then got a cinematic adaption with Dune movie in 1984.

The novel also has so many sequels after that. So, this Dune film has the potential of starting a new movie franchise, like Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). They also launched Dune’s official website promising a big future.

The official synopsis of the movie is “A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.”

Also, this movie is just part one of the books, so a sequel will also be made sometime soon, around 2023 or 2024. But it depends on how well this movie performs in theatres and their streaming platform.
