As theatres are getting re-opened in Maharashtra soon, many Hollywood movies are announcing their upcoming releases for the state. Check out Dune, No Time to Die and Venom 2 release dates in Maharashtra and why they are getting delayed in this region?
Venom 2 Release Date in Maharashtra
Venom 2 is definitely getting a theatrical release in PAN India. It is now officially confirmed that ‘Venom: Let there be Carnage’ or Venom 2 release date in Maharashtra is 22 October 2021. Here is the official announcement by Sony Pictures India’s Twitter account:
Venom returns to wreck Carnage! Don’t miss #Venom: Let There Be Carnage exclusively in movie theaters NOW! In Maharashtra from Oct 22!

Releasing in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. pic.twitter.com/bZkd2Smssk
Venom 2 is dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu languages, along with English. The movie stars Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson in titular roles. It is also now available in 3D and IMAX 3D as well.
While Venom 2 was already released in India on October 14 (and earlier in the USA), during the long Dussehra Weekend, our Maharashtrian fans have to wait a little longer, for about a week. Why?
This is because the state government has only allowed Cinema halls to open from October 22. So, there was no way Sony could have released it in Maharashtra along with other states.
Dune Release Date in Maharashtra
This is one of the most-anticipated Sci-Fi movies of this decade. Dune will also be one of the new Hollywood movies to have a complete India release. Dune release date in Maharashtra is 29 October 2021. Here is the official announcement by Warner Bros India’s Twitter account:
#DuneMovie “Should be experienced on the Biggest Screen possible the most times possible”, releasing in cinemas in India on October 22nd & in Maharashtra on October 29th in English & Hindi.

Dune will be available in both English and Hindi languages. It will also be released in 3D and IMAX 3D formats.
Dune also has star-studded cast Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista and Zendaya. The movie is based on a 1965 best-selling Sci-Fi novel by Frank Herbert.
Why is Dune delayed in Maharashtra?
While Dune is releasing on October 22 in other states of India, it will have a ONE WEEK DELAYED RELEASE in the Maharashtra state. Fans from the state are confused about this because theatres will be restarting in the state from October 22.
So, why not release it on the same day in Maharashtra?
I think the reason is to avoid clashing with Venom 2 release. As I mentioned already earlier, Venom 2 will be available in Maharashtra from October 22.
So, if both these movies were released on the same day, it would result in lower box offices for both movies. Most people would have chosen to watch only one movie over the other.
No Time to Die Release Date in Maharashtra
James Bond is also coming to the financial capital of India. No Time to Die release date in Maharashtra is 22 October 2021. Here is the official tweet from Universal Pictures India:
7…6…5…his final journey to save the world starts in just one week. #NoTimeToDie releasing on 22nd October in Maharashtra. Enjoy it in 3D and IMAX, in English and Hindi. pic.twitter.com/cclL7aP47V
— Universal Pictures India (@UniversalIND) October 15, 2021
It will be available in both English and Hindi languages. It is also having a 3D and IMAX 3D release. The movie is about 2 hours and 43 minutes long.
While the movie was already released in late September in India, it will be a very late release in the state. But it is still good news for Maharashtrian Bond fans because it is the last movie of Daniel Craig as Agent 007.
It is great to see that they also have a chance to watch this fan-favourite Bond actor in his last Bond movie on the big screen, one last time.
So, as soon as theatres reopen in Maharashtra, they will have big blockbuster movie releases from the first week. Marvel’s Eternals is also coming on this Diwali which will be the first major Hollywood movie to have a PAN India release with the same date for all parts of India.
Takeaways
So, now you know the release dates of Dune, Venom 2 and No Time to Die in Maharashtra. While these movies being delayed is not positive news, it is still good to know that fans from Maharashtra will have a chance to watch them in the theatres.
