Carol Danvers is now on a new adventure with some new partners! So, when will ‘The Marvels’ release and how did it perform at the box office in India? Let’s check all of that!
The Marvels release date in India
After the success of the debut film, there were plans for Captain Marvel 2 from the go.
The official release date of The Marvels movie in India is 10 November 2023. It will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The film stars Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris in the lead roles.

This is the same date when it will premiere in the USA. Note that it is not getting dubbed in Kannada and Malayalam for the theatrical release. Maybe they will add them for the Disney+ Hotstar later.
There were some concerns about it getting delayed in India because a big movie Tiger 3 was also scheduled to come out on the same weekend. But now the Bollywood movie is scheduled for 12 November, 2 days later on Sunday.
So, this will give some time for this Marvel project to breathe in India. But we advise you to book the tickets in the first 2 days because, after that, a lot of screens will get allotted to Tiger 3. The Marvels in IMAX will be open for the first 2 days only.
By the way, Loki season 2 on Hotstar will also have its finale episode out on November 10.

Along with them, we will have Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury. Zawe Ashton is playing the antagonist with Korean actor Seo-Jun Park in another important role.
Kamala’s family members are also a part of Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Saagar Shaikh returning from her web series. Mohan Kapur is an Indian actor and there were many Indian & Pakistani actors in Ms Marvel.
Box-Office Report
While the first Captain Marvel film grossed $1 Billion worldwide and around ₹83 crores in India, there are fewer expectations for the sequel.
The superhero genre is not performing well recently and Marvel is facing a downtrend after many below-average projects after Avengers Endgame.
The box-office collection of The Marvels in India was ₹13.60 Crores. Despite below-average reviews, some superhero fans came to watch it in theatres. The opening weekend revenue was around ₹6.5 crores.
But worldwide it was a complete bomb with it becoming the lowest-grossing MCU film since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. It has only made $206 Million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.
When and where will it stream?
Disney+ has been the home to all Marvel Studios features since it was launched. So, there is no doubt that it will be about to change for this one.
The Marvels has been streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in India from 7 February 2024. You can watch it in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
About the Movie
There were always plans for Kamala and Carol to meet, which were officially confirmed in 2020. The only change they made for the second part was switching to Nia DaCosta in the director’s chair.
But still, the under-performance of the studio has not many fans excited. Not a lot is riding on it but still, it’s a Marvel Studios film, so there will be some expectations!
There is also a weekend movie subscription announced by PVR that you try to watch this movie at just ₹69 per movie called PVR Passport.
A fun fact is that it is the shortest MCU movie by runtime being just 1 hour and 45 minutes long.
