A lot of chewing gums have plastics in them, but not this one.

Gud Gum has made India’s first 100% plastic-free chewing gum. So, what’s the alternative to plastic? These gums are made from Chicle Tree Sap, which is biodegradable. They also claim it is kid-friendly and safe for diabetic people.

The founder wanted funding of ₹50 lakh for 5% equity. The plan is to gain more market share and add nutritional ingredients to position them as health supplements. They also want to add more confectionary items like lollipops and candies.
Anupam had already met with the founders, while Vineeta had known about them before. She even liked the packaging but Aman pointed out that they were still using plastic bags to pack the gums. The founder said that they are looking for alternatives.
But the other thing they all liked was the packaging included some blank papers to spit the gums and throw it properly.
Another interesting fact is that Gud Gum is collaborating with another Shark Tank India company Perfora, from season 2. Then, the tank moved to talk about the premium price.
Founder Mayank explained the reason behind it, as they were using natural ingredients in smaller quantities. With large orders, they can significantly reduce the cost.
Namita was out at first because of the smaller market size and the high price.
Aman then jumped in with the same deal that was asked but with some royalty. Ritesh and Anupam joined him instantly. Namita was offered, but later they all came in together.

Sharks Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Ritesh Agarwal, and Vineeta Singh invested ₹80 Lakhs for 10% Equity. They will also get a 4% royalty until the initial investment is recouped.
About The Founders
Brothers Mayank and Bhuvan Nagori are the co-founders of Gud Gum.
Mayank mastered Food Production Management from the University of Nottingham.
He then worked in many companies, before starting 3 startups. One is Soft Corner ice cream delivery, the Second is Pani Foods which makes healthy snacks and the third is Gud Gum.
On the other side, Bhuvan manages marketing because he studied BBA in entrepreneurship at Christ University. He is also a partner at Pani Foods.
After Shark Tank Updates
Like most of such consumer products at low MRP, a lot of audiences fled to buy it from their website. In just a few hours, they went out of stock on many marketplaces, which is good to see.
However, some people still complained about the plastic packaging. Co-founder Bhuvan uploaded a video on their social media to explain the situation and how the plastic they were using can be cycled.
