Perfora is a new oral care brand that offers toothbrushes, toothpaste, flossers, teeth whiteners, and mouthwashes. They are the first to introduce Made Safe certified toothpaste in India, made with natural ingredients.

They asked for ₹80 lakhs investment for a 1% stake in the startup. The money is needed to reach 1 crore households in the next 5 years.


The pitch started with how current toothpaste contains some harmful chemicals and Perfora is a better alternative. However, Peyush instantly mentioned how competitive the industry already is.

All the sharks liked the products, design, and flavors a lot. But the premium price and no scientific proof created the first problem. Also, there is less than average industry gross margin and a lack of social media reach. 

Anupam also didn’t agree with their current marketing strategy and focus on paid promotion only. Still, Namita & Vineeta were ready to invest. Then, Peyush decided to invite all of them for an all-shark deal, but Anupam and Aman went out.

About The Founders

Jatin Bawa and Tushar Khurana are the two co-founders of Perfora. The parent company is Chipper Consumer Private Limited. The startup is based in Gurugram, Haryana.


Jatin is the Creative Dreamer who innovates the products and does the marketing. He is a BCom graduate from Khalsa College and has multiple years of experience in product strategy.

Tushar is the Stargazer, who is more on the sales & financing side. He is also a BCom graduate from SRCC and had worked in RIVIGO and CureFit before.

They met at Jagriti Yatra, a train journey where entrepreneurs gather to gain new knowledge and get new partners. Both’s ideas got aligned and Perfora was born.

After Shark Tank Updates

The founders happily shared on Instagram that they are moving forward to work with the sharks.

Before this, the company had already raised a $1 million seed round just a few months before the show.
