When will Godzilla x Kong release in India?
This 5th instalment in the Monsterverse will be the sequel to Godzilla vs Kong.
The official release date of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire in India is 29 March 2024. You can watch it in English, Hindi, Tamil or Telugu languages.
The story will continue the action-packed adventure like the previous films, along with exploring the origins of these Titans and Skull Island. Adam Wingard will return to direct it.

Godzilla x Kong will also be available in 3D and IMAX. So, there are many formats to experience it on the big screen. Many fans were not able to watch Godzilla vs Kong in theatres due to the pandemic, so this is your time to finally do it.
The tickets opened online about 2 weeks before, and while the pre-sales are not anything extraordinary, it is expected to be a decent show at the box office.
Box-Office Collection in India
The net box-office collection of Godzilla x Kong The New Empire in India is ₹100 Crore.
The opening weekend report shows a great response in the Indian market:

It has made around $367 Million worldwide, according to BoxOfficeMojo.
A significant portion of the ticket sales came from the Hindi belt, where it performed better than similar types of Hollywood films in recent times.
Getting into ₹100 crores in India for a Hollywood film is very rare to see, and that too for a non-superhero film. Warner Bros India also thanked fans and exhibitors for achieving this milestone.

Its predecessor Godzilla vs Kong was able to make $470 Million worldwide with about ₹46 crores in India, even though there were only limited theatres open at that time as well and it was simultaneously released on HBO MAX.
Now that Godzilla x Kong has surpassed the previous one’s collection in India, this means it is now a SUPERHIT.
Warner Bros is having a great month as Dune Part Two also had a decent box office in India recently.
Godzilla x Kong Streaming Update
MAX is the streaming home for all Warner Bros Discovery’s films, but this platform is not coming anytime soon in India. They have another partner here.
Godzilla x Kong will be streaming on JioCinema in India. The digital premiere date is yet to be announced.
JioCinema has also added other WB content like Barbie, The Flash and Blue Beetle. It is expected to have at least 3 months theatrical gap before it comes to OTT.
About The Movie
After Godzilla vs Kong, there was some doubt about whether the Monsterverse would continue or not.
But the positive reviews and good collection numbers pushed it. An official announcement was made in 2022, with Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle returning in the supporting roles.
Terry Rossio will be back to write the screenplay, who worked with Pirates of The Caribbean series.
One of the known additions will be Fala Chen (previously seen in Marvel’s Shang-Chi).
The film has got PG-13 age rating in the USA, with a UA certificate in India. This is quite normal for such types of action-heavy flicks with moderate amounts of violence. The runtime is around 1 hour and 54 minutes.
