The founder duo wanted ₹1 crore for 2.5% equity. The sales were good but they were still losing money at the time. This was because D2C is very slow moving, so they want investment to launch into retail stores.

Everybody loved the drinks, so that was a positive out of the pitch.

Vineeta already knew about it but she was unsure about the prospects. Aman thought the market size it too small and the price was a little high for normal consumers. Radhika advised to keep it small and niche.

Only Vineeta gave an offer but with some debt, so the founders rejected it.

About The Founders

Jordan and Jovita Mascarenhas are the co-founders of Bartisans, based in Mumbai, Maharastra.

Jordan graduated from Don Bosco College Of Hospitality in Hospitality Management. He then interned at Grosvenor House Dubai. But when he had to come home during the 2020 pandemic, he started making drinks for his parents.

The parents Jovita and Carl were already entrepreneurs before and they loved it. That’s how Bartisans started. They started making everything at home at first but now they have a manufacturing unit and deliver online to their customers.

Talking about Jovita, her previous business was a natural corporate gifting company called ‘SuperNatural’ and decorative lighting called ‘Shady Ideas’.

After Shark Tank Updates

Like many more businesses on the tank, the orders came in after the pitch aired on TV and streaming. Such type of easy low-cost products usually get a lot of traction from the show’s viewers.

While most of the sales were happening from their websites before, Bartisans is now available on e-commerce platforms and same-day delivery apps like Zippee.

By the way, other businesses featured in this episode were Dil Foods and AI Kavach.

Finally, you can read the official company pitch here: “We at Bartisans, simplify the intimidating art of blending a cocktail, with unique cocktail mixers made only from natural ingredients. Handcrafted in small batches using fresh fruit juices and spices, our cocktail mixers will help you make bar-quality cocktails in the comforts of your own home.
