Given the cult following the novel enjoys among literature lovers, it is expected to have a good theatrical run in metro cities, especially for the Valentine’s weekend.
Will it be released in IMAX Aspect Ratio
Yes, Wuthering Heights will be exhibited in the IMAX theatres.
The film is shot in the flat 1.85 aspect ratio, which is quite close to IMAX’s 1.90:1 screen size. Something that happened with Superman (2025) also.
So, the whole movie will be presented in the 1.85 aspect ratio on the IMAX screens. This IMAX version is enhanced using their proprietary Digital Media Remastering (DMR) process, which optimizes the film’s brightness, contrast, and audio for premium large-screen exhibition.
IMAX is the best format to watch Wuthering Heights because the movie will fit the whole IMAX screen, giving you an immersive experience.
The trailers tease sweeping landscapes, dramatic skies, and intensely framed close-ups that works will on that scale.

Also, despite being shot in VistaVision, it will not get a 70mm IMAX release.
When and where will Wuthering Height will be streaming?
After the theatrical run is over, Wuthering Heights will be streaming on JioHotstar in India.
The movie is distributed by Warner Bros globally, who have partnership with Reliance’s Jio for the local rights.
Usually, these films land pretty quickly on HBO MAX in the US. But in India, they tend to take a bit longer before showing up on JioHotstar. The same pattern happened with Warner Bros’ One Battle After Another. You might have to wait until May or June.
By the way, Wuthering Heights was shot using 35mm VistaVision, the same large format used in One Battle After Another.
Netflix actually offered more money to acquire the distribution rights, but Warner Bros got the deal in the end because they promised it would be released theatrically.
About The Movie
Wuthering Heights is based on the iconic 1847 novel by Emily Brontë. It’s a popular love story, filled with revenge, too. The story follows Heathcliff and Catherine, whose intense bond turns into obsession and tragedy.
We have seen many adaptations of the novel, including the 1939 version with Laurence Olivier and the recent 2011 version directed by Andrea Arnold.
This new remake promises a more cinematic adaptation with two popular hollywood stars in the lead.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
“Set on the wild Yorkshire moors, Wuthering Heights follows the intense, ruinous bond between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, the orphan her family takes in. When Catherine marries into wealth, Heathcliff’s heartbreak twists into vengeance, unleashing years of conflict that echo through the next generation. It is a haunting tale of love, obsession, and the lasting scars of choices driven by pride and desire.”
Emerald Fennell is directing this film, who gave us Promising Young Woman (2020) and Saltburn (2023).
Takeaways
Now you know where you can watch 2026’s Wuthering Heights movie in India.
While there was a buzz around the film, the reviews are quite mixed. Critics are praising its bold visuals and the sizzling chemistry between Margot and Jacob, but some find it emotionally hollow and or a very loose adaptation of Brontë’s novel.
So, it is visually stunning but may not be too accurate for the book fans.
