The list is dominated by Marvel superhero movies like ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Eternals’. Just to be clear, this data is according to their ‘net’ (without Tax) collection.
Here are the highest-grossing Hollywood movies in India in 2021:
05) Venom Let there be Carnage
NET Collection in India: ₹23.3 Crores
Venom 2 came with the hope for movie theatres to be back on track and It got an amazing response.
It made ₹23.3 crores in India, with a gross of about 30 to 35 crores. This is somewhat lower compared to its international success because it was released about 2 weeks LATE in India.

04) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
NET Collection in India: ₹23.7 Crores
This is the first MCU movie that was released in Indian movie theatres after 2 years, since ‘Black Widow’ wasn’t released theatrically in the country. But It was released in September when many big states like Maharashtra were still closed.
Still, It collected ₹23.7 crores in India, with about 33-37 crores in gross. This is a terrific number considering it opened with 50% seat capacity in most states and some movie theatres were not even open during this time.

03) Eternals
NET Collection in India: ₹37 Crores
Eternals was released during Diwali weekend which is the best time for a movie to get big bucks. Theatres in Maharashtra were also opened in November.
It made ₹37 crores in India, with a gross of about 45-50 crores. While theatres are allowed to run with a 100% audience (Housefull shows) before their release, they got tough competition from Bollywood’s Sooryavanshi.

02) Godzilla vs Kong
NET Collection in India: ₹46 Crores
Godzilla vs Kong was the first major Hollywood movie of 2021 to revive big-screen entertainment. Indian audience was excited about a giant action movie to be released after a year of closed cinema halls.
The net collection of Godzilla vs Kong is ₹46 crores in India, which means it grossed about 60-65 crores overall.
01) Spider-Man No Way Home
NET Collection in India: ₹218 Crores
This AMAZING Spider-man crossover movie shattered Hollywood movie records worldwide. It became the only 2021 movie to cross the $1 billion mark.
It collected ₹218 crores in India, with about 270 crores in gross numbers. It is currently the 3rd highest-grossing Hollywood movie in India of all time.

2021 Hollywood Movies performance in India
In a year when most of the states didn’t allow cinema halls to open because of lockdown, Hollywood came out as a saviour for movie theatres. Even when they were open, Bollywood studios are scared to release their films due to the 50% seat capacity limit.
Bollywood wanted Maharashtra to open movie theatres because it was the biggest and most profitable state for a movie to earn its bucks in the country.
At these uncertain times, Hollywood started releasing movies in the USA and so, when these came to India, they helped the country’s theatre industry.
Also, the data shows that Superhero movies, especially Marvel movies, are still the favourite of desi fans.
