Turning Red release date in India & UK
Do you like Pandas? Then this movie is for you. Turning Red will be released in India & UK on 11 March 2022. That is the worldwide release date for this Pixar feature.
The story is about a young Canadian girl who turns into a Red panda whenever she gets angry. A magical world story that deals with the issues of a teenager. You can also enjoy one more film about a young girl in Encanto on Hotstar right now.
Will it be released in theatres?
Turning Red was initially planned to debut on the big screen but got cancelled due to the rise of COVID in early 2022. Disney has then decided to release it directly on their streaming platform, Disney+.
So, in countries like the USA, UK & India, where Disney+ is available, Turning Red will not be released in theatres. You can only watch it at home on your TV or phone.
Just one place is excluded from this, which is El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles. There it will be screened for one week between March 11 to 17.
Only in countries where Disney+ is not available, it will be released in movie theatres.
Which OTT will it be available in India?
The official OTT platform for Turning Red in India is Disney+ Hotstar. This is because this movie is distributed by Walt Disney Studios, and all their movies are exclusively streamed on Hotstar in India.
The release time will be around 1:30 PM IST.
Will Turning Red be dubbed on Hotstar?
Yes. In India, Turning Red will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The only missing language here is Kannada and we don’t know the exact reason behind this.
Most Pixar movies are enjoyed by families together. So, this was no surprise that they will be dubbing it in local languages in the country.

Who is in the voice cast?
Rosalie Chiang is voicing the main character Meilin Lee. Sandra Oh and Orion Lee are playing her parents, Ming and Jin. Wai Ching Hao (Madame Gao in the Daredevil series) is Mei’s grandmother in it.
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’ fame is also a part of Turning Red as Priya. Along with her, Ava Morse is providing her voice for another friend Miriam.
Interestingly, famous singer, Billie Eilish wrote 3 songs in the film with Finneas O’Connell. Also, in the UK version, Anne-Marie (The Voice Coach) will make a cameo in this movie.
About the Movie
Pixar is known for making some of the most iconic animated movies in Hollywood like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Coco and Cars. So, any of their upcoming movies are always expected to be loved by everyone. And this is going to be their first 2022 release.
This is also the first time a Pixar movie is entirely directed by a woman. Domee Shi, who has been a storyboard artist at Pixar since 2011, is the director of Turning Red. She has also directed the animated short ‘Bao’ for the company before, which won an Oscar in 2019.
The next movie from Pixar is Lightyear releasing in India on 17 June 2022.
