Disney’s Encanto is finally coming to India. Find out its release date in theatres and then on Hotstar here!
When will Encanto be released in India?
Encanto release date in India is 26 November 2021. It will be available in 2D, 3D and 4DX formats in Indian movie theatres.
However, it was released in the USA two days earlier on November 24.
This new animation movie has got amazing reviews from both critics and fans. It is a typical Disney-style fantasy movie, which we usually get from Walt Disney Animation Studios.
It has got a U certificate in India, so you can take your kids to watch it on the big screen. A perfect movie to enjoy with your family.

The story is about a small 15-years old Colombian girl ‘Mirabel’ whose family members have got magical powers, but she didn’t. But when problems arrive, she might be their only chance to get saved.
Encanto Release Date on Hotstar
Encanto will be released on Hotstar on 24 December 2021. Hotstar is the official OTT platform for streaming Disney animation movies in India.
It is because Hotstar is now owned by Disney (that is why it is called ‘Disney+ Hotstar’). So, when this movie arrives on Disney+ streaming in the USA, it will be out in India as well on the Hotstar OTT platform.
Encanto is officially given a 30-day theatrical window meaning it will be available exclusively in theatres for the first 30 days.
While some other Disney movies have a 45-days gap like Shang-Chi, Eternals or West Side Story, Encanto is getting only a 30-days gap. This is done to make it release before the Christmas holiday weekend.
The release time will be 1:30 PM in India. So, enjoy your Christmas eve with this movie.
By the way, Shang-Chi and Jungle Cruise are currently available on Hotstar.
Is it available in Hindi, Tamil or Telugu dubbing?
While Hotstar was not dubbed during its theatrical release in India, it changed when it was available on streaming.
Yes, on HOTSTAR, Disney’s Encanto is officially dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu along with English. Great move Hotstar!

The runtime is around 1 hour and 39 minutes.
The main character ‘Mirabel’ is voiced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz. It is directed by Byron Howard, who has also made ‘Tangled’ and ‘Zootapia’ in the past.
The official synopsis reads: “Encanto tells the tale of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live in a wondrous, charming place called an Encanto. Each child has been blessed with a magic gift unique to them, each child except Mirabel. But when the family’s home is threatened, Mirabel may be their only hope.”
