Will The Creator movie release in India? (IMAX, OTT, Hindi?)

While Dune 2 is moved to 2024, Sci-Fi fans can now look for The Creator, a movie that is also about AI. Find out all about its release here!

The Creator Release Date

Set in the distant future where Artificial Intelligence is fighting, the plot looks quite interesting.

The release date of The Creator movie in India is 29 September 2023. It will only be available in English and is not getting dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

The early critic reactions were quite good as well, with some calling it the best Sci-Fi film of the year. They are praising the emotional story with the scale of the big visual flick.

The Creator stars John David Washington (Tenet) and Gemma Chan (Marvel’s Eternals) in the lead roles.

Will The Creator be released in IMAX?

The Creator will release in the IMAX theatres but it is not filmed with the IMAX cameras.

But one fun fact here is that it will have a 2.76 aspect ratio, which is wider than most normal films. That also makes it unsuitable for the taller IMAX screens. But the visual effects look amazing, so that might be something you want to watch on a big screen.

Another thing that might fascinate movie lovers is that the director shot it with a regular Sony FX3 camera. This compact camera allowed them to shoot in real locations at a fast pace. They traveled to 8 different countries with a production budget of just $80 million.

Also, remember that the background score is composed by Hans Zimmer. That will be something to listen to!

ScreenX and 4DX theatres will also play The Creator, which are popular formats in Asian countries.

Will The Creator be released in IMAX?

Since 20th Century Studios is distributing it and it is now owned by Disney, there is no doubt that it will drop on their platform exclusively.

The Creator is streaming in India on Disney+ Hotstar from 20 December 2023. Hotstar had not added local language options in Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu for this sci-fi thriller.

Is The Creator Rated R?

The Creator has got a PG-13 age rating with some violent action scenes. So, you can take your kids with you but remember that the VFX  might look a little creepy to them.

About The Movie

The Creator is directed by Gareth Edwards, known for 2014’s Godzilla and 2016’s Rogue One films. He said that he took inspiration from Apocalypse Now, Akira, Blade Runner, and ET.
