Shark Tank India Premiere Date & Time
The first season of Shark Tank India will be released on 20 December 2021 in the country. The release time is 9 PM from Monday to Friday.
This show is the Indian version of the International business reality series, also called Shark Tank. There are more than 30 countries that have adopted this show including the USA, UK, and Australia. The American version is quite popular in India as well.
In India, it will be available in Hindi (or a mix of Hindi and English) language.
There will be a total of 7 investors in Shark Tank India. These are Aman Gupta, Ghazal Alagh, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Ashneer Grover, Vineeta Singh, and Peyush Bansal. All of them are successful startup founders or business people.
More than 50,000 entries were received. From that, about 198 entrepreneurs will be pitching their ideas and about ₹41 Crores are funded in the first season, according to the official show description.
It will be hosted by Rannvijay Singha from MTV Roadies fame. Also, Popular education company UpGrad is the presenting sponsor here.
Which OTT & TV channel will it telecast on?
The episodes of Shark Tank India will be telecasted on the Sony India (SET) TV channel and will be streamed on the SonyLiv streaming platform.
Sony has the distribution rights to this reality show in many other countries. And now Sony Pictures Networks India has got rights to this Indian version.

SonyLiv is the official OTT platform for Sony and its associated channels’ programs, so there is no doubt that it will be exclusive to the streaming service. Watch it here!

There will be 5 episodes per week. This is different from the USA’s version because they do only one episode per week. This was changed because most Indians have a habit of watching television daily at night.
The second season also followed the same schedule but with new timings.

If you don’t know much about it, Shark Tank is a popular investment reality show worldwide. In some countries, it is also known as Dragon’s Den. Contestants pitch their business (or idea) to big investors. These investors are called ‘Sharks’.
There will be 5 to 6 sharks at a time during the pitch who will evaluate the business and ask questions to the entrepreneur. After listening to the business idea, Sharks can make a deal for a certain percentage of equity in the contestant’s business.
This way, Budding businesses or startups can get investment as well as guidance from a successful investor to grow their company.
