Madame Web release date in India
This will be the 4th movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU), following Morbius and 2 Venom films.
Madame Web was released in India on 16 February 2024. It is available in English, Hindi, and Tamil languages.

It is very strange to see that while it is getting dubbed in Telugu. Usually, if a Hollywood film gets released in India, it is only English or all 4 of them. A lot of fans have asked this to Sony Pictures India’s social media but there is still no definite answer.
Also, while it is premiering on a Friday, the movie is 2 days late in India. The film is promoted to have a Valentine Day’s release on 14 February in many major markets around the world. They could have done the same here, but well, that didn’t happen.
Madame Web is an origin story of Cassandra “Cassie” Webb, who discovers her powers of clairvoyance, and now has to save some teenage girls, who will become Spider-Women in the future.
Is it coming out in 3D and IMAX?
Madame Web is not converted in 3D format and neither does it have any scenes in expanded IMAX aspect ratio.
3D is still a popular format among young moviegoers in India, so this might have some effect on its box office.
Talking about IMAX, you will surely get a better experience on those screens, but it is not shot with any special IMAX camera. None of the previous Sony’s Spider-Man universe films have gotten a release in IMAX.
On the other side, there are many MCU movies shot in IMAX.
OTT Streaming Update
Madame Web will be streaming on Netflix in India from 14 May 2024. Sony has a contract with the service for their upcoming films. It can also be made available SonyLIV platform in India after some time.
The digital premiere date is yet to be announced.
Madame Web Box-Office in India
With the bad reviews the movie is getting, it is not expected to be a big box-office draw. It is estimated to have a $25 million opening weekend in the USA.
Madame Web has collected around ₹5.6 crores at the box-office in India. The worldwide collection stands at $100 Million after the opening weekend.
About the Movie
Madame Web is the latest installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which technically doesn’t have a Spider-Man in it. Still, it is connected to Spider-Man in some way.
The cast includes some popular names like Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.
