Upliance AI makes AI-powered cooking appliances. Their patent tech can cook a variety of cuisines in just one click of a button. It can show you how to make the dish, and how to cook it, easy for beginners.
They have one main product, their AI assistant delishUp, that connects with WiFi and has an 8-inch Touch screen. You can get it from Amazon (*Affiliate Link):

The founders were willing to give 1% equity in exchange for ₹1 crore funding.
The pitch started with a demonstration of the appliance, where they were making ‘Kadhai Paneer’. And the product is so unique, every shark came down to watch what’s happening.
However, the first thing Namita was confused about is where is the AI component. She didn’t seem satisfied with the answer. Another confusion was that they were selling the appliance at a loss at that stage.
Anupam was already familiar with this startup before. He was not sure if it was solving a major problem. He thinks it will take a lot of time to find a market for domestic use in India. That’s the same reason for Azhar, so both were out.
The pitchers were also not clear about some market numbers. But then, it was time to try the dish they were preparing. The taste was good, but not for Namita. She went out.
Amit thought the valuation was too high, based on current sales. At last, there was only Peyush. He at least liked the founders and believed he could take a chance on them. He offered a ₹20 crore valuation, far below what was asked for.

About The Founders
Mohit Sharma and Mahek Mody are the co-founders of Upliance AI. The startup is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Mahek is the CEO, and Mohit is the CTO. Both of them met at IIT Bombay when studying B.Tech. in Civil Engineers.
Mohit has experience in companies like Aspect Ratio, and Tork Motors, but then worked for 5 years in Chayoos. There he had a tea-making machine, which led to making an all-in-one cooking appliance later.
He then shared this idea with his friend Mahek, and then Upliance AI was born.
After Shark Tank Updates
After the advent of ChatGPT, upliance has started working with this GPT to personalize recipes and get real-time updates for them.
In February 2024, a few days after the Shark Tank India aired, they got some new investment. Upliance raised around ₹34 crores at a valuation of ₹143 crores from Khosla Ventures.
Other than that, they already have some big investors on their table, including co-founders of Aether Energy, co-founders of Unacademy, Rainmatter by Zerodha, and Stanford Angels.
By the way, other businesses featured in this episode were Tiggle Chocolate Mix and WYLD social currency card.
In the end, here is more about them: “At upliance.ai, we envision bringing smart technology into every corner of your home. Brace yourself for the upcoming launch of an expansive product line, featuring smart refrigerators, microwaves, and more, all thoughtfully designed to enhance and simplify your daily lives.”
