Is this the end of Snyderverse or the beginning of a new DC Universe? Let’s find out more about The Flash movie for Indian DC fans!
The Flash movie release date in India
The Flash was officially announced 9 years ago, but finally it is ready to be screened for the moviegoers.
DC’s The Flash movie will be released in India on 15 June 2023. It will premiere one day early, on Thursday. You can watch it in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages in your nearby theaters.
It is now a common trend for Hollywood movies in India to shift their release dates to Thursday. This is because they have some diehard fans, and Studios want their initial reactions to hype up normal moviegoers to buy tickets for Saturday or Sunday.
Will this benefit the Box-Office of The Flash in India? That’s a question for another day. Meanwhile, The Flash is getting amazing reviews from critics and fans who have watched it. Some are calling it the “Best DC movie after The Dark Knight“.
Here is the compilation of all reviews in Hindi:
All are praising the performances of Michael Keaton as Batman, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. However, there was some criticism for the final act but the action is top-notch.
Still, the track record of Superhero movies is not that great in the past few months. While Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 had good box-office in India & Across The Spider-Verse was loved, films like Shazam 2, Quantumania & Black Adam failed to impress the audience.

But now, let’s now move to the big question for Indian DC Fans!
The Flash in 3D or 2D?
DC movies like Shazam Fury of The Gods, Black Adam or The Batman did not get converted to 3D. This was a big deal for desi superhero lovers who always request for a 3D option for such big action-adventures. We have sad news this time also.
The Flash movie is not getting a 3D release option. Only 2D screenings will happen worldwide including India. Even with 4DX, you will not get 3D glasses.
Is The Flash shot in IMAX?
DC’s The Flash film is shot with Arri Alexa LF and Mini LF IMAX cameras with the complete footage in 1.90:1 aspect ratio. This is similar to the recent Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 movie, which also filled the full IMAX screen from start to end.
Even the normal trailers are shown with this expanded ratio. So, we don’t know whether it will be cropped on normal theatres or not. But for IMAX, there is no worry. You will experience it from top to bottom. Here is the official IMAX Poster:
On June 16, it’s time to enter the Speed Force and travel the multiverse in IMAX.

You’ve only got 2 WEEKS to see this @DCOfficial defining movie on the biggest possible screen…Unless you’re also fast enough to enter the timestream. 💨

Even the fan screenings are happening in IMAX by Warner Bros, so we can definitely say that IMAX 2D is the best format to watch The Flash. But if that is not available in town, go for Dolby because their sound system is far better than others.
About The Movie
A standalone movie on Flash was first announced in 2014 to be a part of DC Extended Universe, then it went to development hell. After changing the writers and directors many times, Andy Muschietti, the man behind horror IT movies, helmed the director chair.
In the runtime of around 2 hours and 24 minutes, not only will it adapt the famous Flashpoint storyline, with Michael Keaton returning as Batman, introducing Supergirl and many surprising cameos including Batfleck. General Zod is also back to conquer!
Many expectations are riding on it to showcase a big comics story with the end of the main DCEU and setting up something for the future of DC.
In the end, we leave you with the official synopsis of the film (via warnerbros.com): “Worlds collide when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Superheroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”
