Shazam 2 India Release Date
Between all the massive delays, we are getting a sequel to the DC’s Captain Marvel after 4 years.
Shazam Fury of The Gods will release in India on 16 March 2023. While the official date is still on Friday (17 March), there will be many early shows starting on Thursday evening. It is available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

This will be the 12th film in the DC Universe that started with Man of Steel. But there is very little excitement for this flick among the fans. The trailer looks like it is just another comic book adventure.
Still, the early reactions by critics are positive stating that the comedy, family aspect, and monster action are on-point. The addition of Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, and Helen Mirren was is also amazing.
Is it in 3D and IMAX?
With everything going on, we must answer what is the best format to watch this Shazam sequel.
While it will not release in 3D, Shazam Fury of The Gods will premiere in IMAX screens. It will not have any expanded aspect ratio but there will be a better audio-video experience because of IMAX DMR Technology.
Shazam Fury of the Gods OTT
We all know that it is a Warner Bros Discovery’s distribution, so there is no question that it will drop on HBO MAX in the USA. But what about India?
Shazam Fury of The Gods will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video platform in India. Prime Video is the home to many DC and WBD movies in the past for international territories. The OTT release date is yet to be announced.
It will definitely take 3 to 4 months to wait for it at home, but some services like BookMyShow Stream and Amazon Store might list it digitally with Rent and Buy definitely.
Is it connected to Black Adam?
They are the ultimate hero and villain pair of the DC comics. So, they must come face to face soon. It was once going to be a single movie, before Shazam and Black Adam were separated into different stories.
While there were many easter eggs of this crossover in both movies, an interview with the Shazam director confirmed that they didn’t have any conversation about it. Black Adam’s actor Dwayne Johnson has also said that there are no plans for his return.

About the Movie
Directed by David Sandberg, Fury of The Gods is a sequel to 2019’s original movie, with Asher Angel and Zachary Levi returning as the titular character.
They will be accompanied by Djimon Hounsou, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody,, Meagan Good, Ross Butler, and Grace Fulton.
The tickets opened in the country on the Sunday prior to the main week. Get them now or wait for reviews to come through.
