Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves Release
You might have played this famous tabletop game at home, but now it is time to watch it on the big screen.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was released in India on 31 March 2023. Some paid preview shows will happen in some cities on 30 March. One more interesting part is that it was dubbed in only Tamil and Telugu in India, but Not in Hindi for theatres.
This will be interesting because usually when a Hollywood film gets dubbed here, the first language is mostly Hindi. But maybe they are not predicting much enthusiasm in the northern market.
Also, this new D&D film has got PG-13 ratings in the USA, so you can easily it with your kids and the whole family. The reviews are also coming out to be good, calling it a fun flick. The runtime is around 2 hours and 14 minutes.
For anyone who has not played the game, you can get interested in it by the cast list. Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez are in lead roles, who are joined by Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Chloe Coleman, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.
Will it be released in 3D and IMAX?
Dungeons and Dragons (2023) was not available in 3D and IMAX formats. There will be screenings in IMAX theatres for sure, but they will not have any expanded aspect ratio.
Still, it is filled with many big action scenes full of VFX, as we saw in its Official Trailer:
So, you might consider going to the best cinema, maybe IMAX, for the best experience because of its big screen size.
OTT Streaming When & Where?
This D&D film was distributed by Paramount Pictures. So, after the theatrical run, it will be streaming on Paramount+ in the USA.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video in India. They even added a Hindi language option along with English, Tamil, and Telugu.
Most Paramount movies are on that OTT platform. By the way, Top Gun Maverick is streaming in India on Prime Video.
About the Movie
As we know, there was a D&D trilogy that came out between 2000 and 2012, but this new one is in no way connected to that. This is a complete attempt to adapt the game for the mass audience.
Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley directed it, who also made Game Night (2018) before, but has also written the screenplay for Spider-Man Homecoming and the new Flash film, coming very soon.
There were already some special previews that happened days before the release date, and everyone who attended it is praising them. So, if you love the game, go and buy the tickets, or wait for the full reviews to come out.
