As a Marvel fan, I can say that you must be excited about the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania.
It is the 31st MCU film, the 3rd Ant-Man flick, and the 1st movie of Phase 5. Releasing in February 2023, this is definitely a big part of the universe because they are going to introduce Kang The Conquerer as the next big villain after Thanos.
Not only that, we are going to go deep into the Quantum Realm, which is an important part of the MCU because it helped the Avengers in the events of Endgame. Now, it will set up Avengers 5 The Kang Dynasty.
Now, this VFX-heavy action feature must be seen in the best way possible. So, should you go for IMAX, 3D, Dolby, or 4DX?
Is Ant-Man 3 shot in IMAX?
Yes, Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania is filmed for IMAX. It will have select scenes in the expanded 1.90:1 aspect ratio which is 26% more footage than normal screens. IMAX is the best format to watch Ant-Man 3.
It is shot with the Panavision Millennium DXL2 cameras, which were also used for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Other than that, RED’s KOMODO and Arri Alexa Mini LF cameras.

As you can get from the trailer, most scenes in the microverse are in the large format and will completely fill the screen from top to bottom. Now, you can choose between 3D and 2D for yourself. We recommend 3D!
Also, check all MCU movies in IMAX format that are streaming on Disney+. You will get better audio and video quality for sure.
Is 4DX also good?
If IMAX is not available, 4DX is another interesting option. 4DX is popular in Korea, Japan, and India. Here you get a 3D viewing with many sensory effects like rain, fog, scent, and motion-enhanced seats. One good thing is that 4DX is also cheaper than IMAX.
Ant-Man 3’s runtime is also only 2 hours and 5 minutes, so this is a perfect picture for such a roller-coaster experience. Kids also loved this format because it engages them more in the movie.
Is Quantumania available on ScreenX?
ScreenX is a new format that is slowly becoming a favorite of some people. It has 2 additional screens on the left and right, which provides a 270-degree vision, making it more immersive.
Quantumania is also formatted in ScreenX. It is the 10th Marvel Studios feature to get converted. Even the last Ant-Man and Wasp movie was given a ScreenX release.
If all the above formats are not near you, Dolby must be. It is a tried-and-tested theatre for any type of movie. Dolby Atmos is better, but Dolby 3D will also work.
Overall, Quantumania is riding a lot of expectations from fans after the lackluster reception of last year’s content, be it Thor Love and Thunder, She-Hulk, etc. But with it, we are moving to Phase 5 which is a new start.
If it gets good reviews, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 and The Marvels will become more exciting. Also, we need to know how actually Multiverse and Timelines manipulation works in this world.
