Tramboo Sports on Shark Tank India

Kashmir is home to many cricket bat manufacturers, and Tramboo wants to take this legacy forward.

Here are the key details about their pitch on Shark Tank:

Tramboo Sports makes cricket bats made from Kashmir willow. Kashmir willow is only found in Kashmir, so they are one of the few makers of bats from that region. Their process is also different than other manufacturers.

While their products are still not available on e-commerce platforms, we found one seller who was claiming to sell Tramboo Sports bats on Amazon (*Affiliate Link):

The co-founder brothers wanted an investment of ₹30 Lakhs for 3% equity. Their main customers are amateur players, for whom they make tennis ball bats. But they also manufacture seasoned bats for professional players.

Most of the sales come from Instagram, with a decent profit margin. Vineeta was first to offer the money for 10%, and Anupam joined him. Aman also offered the deal for 6%, but Ritesh was ready for just 4%.

Then, Peyush joined the discussion, and he lowered it to 3%, exactly what the pitcher was looking for. Ritesh also came down to 3%. But pitchers wanted Aman and Peyush.

About The Founders

Hamaad and Saad Tramboo are the co-founders of Tramboo Sports. They started the business in 2021 and now exporting them to different countries as well.

Their parents were already in the wood business, so they had an idea about this industry, and of course, like many young Indians, they loved playing cricket. So, this is their moment to turn their hobby into passion.

At the time of the pitch, both of them were still studying. Saad was doing his BBA at Christ University, Bangalore.

After Shark Tank Updates

At the time of the deal, Aman and Peyush were interested in getting star cricketers like Suryakumar Yadav or Hardik Pandya in marketing these bats, because they are already brand ambassadors of Lenskart or boAt.

After the pitch aired in January 2024, a controversy happened. The Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK) sent a legal notice to Shark Tank India, Sony Television, and Tramboo Sports for making false claims on the show.

A member company of this Association, Alfa Sports alleged that Tramboo is not a manufacturer of the bats, but Alfa Sports is. Another accusation is made that there is nothing unique about Tramboo’s manufacturing process.

By the way, other businesses featured in this episode were Zorko Food Lovers and WeHear Hearing Solutions.

At last, we found this official product pitch about Tramboo on their website: “We sell the best quality Kashmir Willow Bats, made from Premium Grade 1 Kashmir Willow, which is handcrafted to perfection. Our bats are lightweight, extremely durable, and pack an amazing punch.
