Tom Cruise is back possibly for his final mission, should he choose to accept it. But if you want to experience this movie in theatres, here are the official release details for India.
Mission Impossible 8’s Release Date in India
Indian audiences are up for special suprise, as the latest Mission Impossible 8 movie is confirmed to release six days early in the country.
The official release date for Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning is set for 17 May 2025. That will be Saturday, and six days early before it premieres in the US and some other major countries.
The annoucement came from Paramount India with this new poster:
The film will be available in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. But the big update is the runtime, it is 2 hours 49 minutes long. I hope there is a lot more action this time.
The early release has made many fans happy. It also highlights the significance of the Indian market for such hollywood blockbusters. Don’t forget the last installment (Mission Impossible The Dead Reckoning) entered ₹100 crore club too at India’s box office.
You can see the excitement from the great ticket sales it is having. According to Pinkvilla, the movie has already sold more than 11,000 tickets, as of 11 May. This means it has already made ₹20 crores in India, even before the first show.
However, note that the situation between India and Pakistan escalates further, it might affect the release in the country, maybe a delay for few days of weeks.
When and where will MI8 stream in India?
Since Paramount Pictures is the official distributor, this 8th entry in the Mission Impossible series will drop on Paramount+ in the US. But there is no such OTT platform currently available in India. To make their content more accessible, Paramount has given the local rights to Jio.
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning will be streaming on JioHotstar in India. The digital premiere date is yet to be announced.

I believe we need to wait for at least 6 to 12 weeks before it comes to streaming. That will be around July or August.
Till then, most of the previous Mission Impossible films are already on JioHotstar. Only MI7 The Dead Reckoning movie is available on Netflix in India.
About the Movie
After the success of Mission Impossible Fallout, Tom Cruise confirmed two new films in the series. They were titled The Dead Reckoning Part 1 and Part 2, and were planned to be shot back-to-back.
But those plans were later changed and shooting of Part 2 was shot a few months after completing Part 1. Later, Paramount also renamed ‘Dead Reckoning Part 2’ to ‘The Final Reckoning’.
This final MI film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who has been attached to the series since MI5 Rogue Nation.
There is not much known about the plot of the movie, except it is set only a couple of months after the events of The Dead Reckoning. And from what they are promoting in trailers, it will have a lot of connections to all the previous films in the franchise.
But the main villain is still the AI program called ‘The Entity’, with a returning star cast that includes Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff and Angela Bassett.
