Death on the Nile release date in India
Death on the Nile will be released in India on 11 February 2022, exclusively in theatres. This is the same release date as in USA & UK.
The movie is already delayed for more than 2 years. So, it is good to see this Gal Gadot starer murder mystery is finally getting released.
OTT streaming platform in India?
The wait is over, the movie is officially online now. Death on the Nile is streaming in India on Disney+ Hotstar. The streaming release date is set for 15 April 2022. Watch it on Hotstar here!
This is because it is distributed by 20th Century Studios which is owned by Disney. Their past movies like ‘Jojo Rabbit’ and ‘Free Guy’ are also available on Disney+ Hotstar.
Similarly, in USA, UK, Canada & Australia, its OTT platform will probably be a Disney+ streaming service as well.
This also means that it only had a 2 months theatrical window from the big screen to a smaller one.
Hindi, Tamil, Telugu dubbing update
There is good news for some and bad news for others. Let’s start with the good one: Death on the Nile will be officially dubbed in Hindi.

But Death on the Nile is not getting dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. It is strange that they are dubbing it only in Hindi and not in other Indian languages.
I think that they planned to release it in only English in the country since it is not a big superhero movie like ‘Spider-Man No Way Home’ (which broke box-office records in India).
But because there is an Indian actor here who is well-known among desi audiences, they later decided to add the Hindi language option for moviegoers.
To sum up, ‘Death on the Nile’ will be available in English and Hindi languages in India.

The most amazing thing about this movie is its grand star cast. Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot is the most popular name on the list. While Kenneth Branagh is in the lead role as the detective.
Other actors include Tom Bateman, Annette Bening (‘Supreme Intelligence’ in Captain Marvel), Russell Brand, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie (‘Ygritte’ in Game of Thrones), Emman MacKay (‘Maeve’ in Sex Education), Sophie Okonedo and Letitia Wright(‘Shuri’ in Black Panther).

Who is the Indian actor in Death on the Nile movie?
Many Indians noticed that there is a known face in this Hollywood film. Ali Fazal is the Indian actor in Death on the Nile. He is playing the role of Andrew Katchadourian, who is the lawyer and cousin of Gal Gadot’s character Linnet.
Ali is already a big actor in India after his hit series Mirzapur on Amazon Prime Video. He has also starred in popular Bollywood movies like 3 Idiots and Fukrey.
He has worked in many foreign films like a small cameo in Furious 7, an important role in an Indo-Chinese film ‘Xuan Zang’ and the lead actor in 2017’s Victoria & Abdul (with Judi Dench). So, he has a good history of working in Bollywood and Hollywood movies.
More About the Movie
‘Death on the Nile’ was a 1937’s detective fiction written by Agatha Christie, who has written more than 60 novels in this genre. This is the 2nd time this story is adapted on the big screen, after the 1978’s adaptation directed by John Guillermin.
Kenneth Branagh (who is playing the detective here) is now directing this mystery thriller. He had previously directed Marvel’s Thor (2011) and ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (2017). The latter is also a novel by Agatha. That is how Kenneth is playing the same character here.
More important info you might want to know is that it is rated ‘PG-13’ with a runtime of 127 minutes (2 hours 7 minutes). The critics’ reviews are quite mixed, so we will wait for how the normal audience will react to it.
