Nolan fans, the wait is finally over. Advance IMAX ticket bookings for his upcoming movie THE ODYSSEY have now started in India. Here are the best screens in your city to watch for the best experience.
The Odyssey Tickets Out in India
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey will be one of the biggest movies of 2026. Based on Homer’s legendary epic poem, the film follows the dangerous journey of Odysseus. It’s filled with action, drama, and suspense.
Cinephiles are waiting to book tickets for the opening weekend, especially in IMAX, because the whole movie is shot for that premium format.
This means that when you watch the movie in an IMAX cinema, the footage will cover the screen from top to bottom with the expanded 1.90:1 aspect ratio for the whole runtime.

Note that India does not have a 1.43:1 IMAX screen.
But still, we have 1.90:1 screens, which are larger than a normal screen, and you can book the seats now.
The Odyssey’s IMAX tickets are officially on sale across India on 8 June 2026. Tickets started coming up in many locations from 10 PM onwards.
This is a major moment for a hollywood movie to start booking this early in India. The Odyssey is set for release on July 17, so this is about a month and a half early.
Usually we see tickets showing up only one week before the release date, but this time, looking at the excitement, they are opening bookings far in advance to give fans a chance to secure their preferred seats.
Speaking about the opening of IMAX ticket bookings for The Odyssey in India, Denzil Dias, Vice President and Managing Director, Warner Bros. Discovery India, said:
“The Odyssey is the first film in cinema history to be shot entirely on IMAX cameras, a milestone Christopher Nolan spent nearly twenty years working toward.
On June 8, for the first time in India, Nolan fans will be amongst the first in the world to be able to book their favorite seats alongside their fellow Christopher Nolan fans around the world.
For Nolan fans in India, this is a moment worth marking. For the first time, they book their seats alongside the rest of the world, for the first film in history made entirely on IMAX cameras.”
Just for clarification, Universal Pictures is producing and distributing the movie, but Warner Bros India will handle the distribution in the Indian market.
The Odyssey is exactly the kind of film made for the big screen. Nolan has built a reputation for creating large-scale cinematic experiences, and this film takes this further, as made entirely with IMAX cameras.

From massive battle sequences to breathtaking locations and an immersive score by Ludwig Göransson, this movie must be seen on the biggest screen possible.
The big question is whether India will see the same ticket-buying frenzy that recently took over the US.
In the US, the race for IMAX tickets for The Odyssey has become a phenomenon of its own. The 70mm IMAX tickets went on sale one year before release. Many screenings sold out within minutes, and several major booking platforms struggled to handle the traffic.
Even just a few days ago, on June 4, when the main bookings opened in the US, demand once again overwhelmed ticketing platforms. AMC’s website had to pause due to the huge demand, while social media was flooded with screenshots of virtual long queues.
While I don’t think there will be such a rush here in India, I can certainly expect that the best seats will be sold out within minutes for the first weekend shows.
Nolan has built one of the strongest fan bases of any Hollywood director in India with films like The Dark Knight, Inception and the cinephile’s favorite Interstellar.
So, the demand will be there.
But fans, note that the expanded aspect ratio in The Odyssey won’t be exclusive to IMAX screenings.
While IMAX theaters will present the film in a 1.90:1 aspect ratio, several other premium large-format screens, including EPIQ, Dolby Cinema, and Prasads PCX, are also expected to offer the expanded 1.85:1 version.
So even if an IMAX screen isn’t available near you, you’ll still be able to experience more of Nolan’s intended image on select premium formats.
But right now, tickets for IMAX are coming out first; you need to know the best places to experience it to its fullest.
Best IMAX Screen in India to Watch The Odyssey
Here is the full list of all 34 IMAX screens in India.
These are located in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, and Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Surat.
In most cities, there is only one IMAX cinema, so that’s the only and best option you have.
But in some cities, you can decide. So, here’s what I recommend:
- Best in Delhi-NCR: PVR Priya IMAX, Vasant Vihar
- Best in Mumbai: Miraj IMAX, Wadala
- Best in Pune: INOX Phoenix Mall of Millennium, Wakad
- Best in Bengaluru: PVR Nexus Mall, Koramangala
- Best in Chennai: PVR Palazzo Nexus Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani

In Delhi, the best choice is definitely PVR Priya IMAX with its 69ft wide screen, laser projectors, and 12-channel audio. The second best option will be the IMAX PVR Select City Walk with just a small size.
But if you can compromise on 4K laser projectors and just want the biggest size possible, you can also choose between IMAXs at Vegas Mall, Dwarka and Logix (now Bhutani City Centre), Noida.
In Mumbai, Miraj Cinemas gives you a 72ft wide screen, the biggest IMAX in India, with laser projectors but no 12-channel audio. So, if you want a better sound experience, PVR ICON at Phoenix Palladium, in Lower Parel, is better.
In Bengaluru, PVR Nexus Koramangala gives you IMAX Laser with 12-channel audio. Other than that, IMAX at VR Mall and Vega City Mall does have 60ft wide screens.
As soon as tickets for other premium formats come, I will update you with a new article on those screens.
