Crave Raja Foods on Shark Tank India
Do you know that a lot of ingredients in your snacky meals go into the trash every day? Two people didn’t like it.
Here are the key details about their pitch on Shark Tank:
Name | Crave Raja Foods |
Founder | Subhabrata Ganguly, Soupaul Dubey |
Episode | Season 02 Episode 39 |
Ask | ₹65 Lakhs for 3% Equity |
Deal | No Deal |
Sharks | NA |
Status | In-business |
Crave Raja Foods is a cloud-kitchen service that makes tasty fast food items with less wastage. They try to use the same ingredient to make different types of meals so that it gets used in any one cuisine and doesn’t end in the dustbin.
They have 4 brands under their umbrella:
- S.O.S. (Sandwich, Omelettes, Snacks)
- Burrito Raja (Protein Wraps)
- Gusto Pizza (Pizza & Chicken Wings)
- The Fry Raja (Fried Chicken)
They have 1 central kitchen and 3 sub-kitchen at the time when they pitched before the sharks. In this way, they can make a variety of fast food items with saving money by increasing efficiency.
Gusto Pizza’s star product is a large-size cheese burst pizza that even Domino doesn’t have.
Now they want to open more kitchens and introduce new brands in the future. They were looking to get ₹65 Lakhs for a 3% pie of their startup. The vision is to be India’s biggest cloud-kitchen brand.
Each shark was impressed by the taste. Peyush was also astonished by how one of the entrepreneurs is still doing a regular job with it.
The revenue for FY 2021-22 was around ₹3 crores and they are expected to grow more in the coming months. But the problem was just a 3.5% net margin. And since one of the co-founders is not full-time, Aman went out.
Peyush didn’t offer also because he has no expertise in this domain. Namita said the market is already cluttered and Anupam questioned their strategy to go with multiple brands. He advised focusing on one name only.
But Amit has a different opinion. He thought that idea has potential but they are still not investible.
