Spidey is returning to the big screen with a Brand New Day. After the events of No Way Home, Fans are excited to see what is happening with the friendly neighbourhood superhero. I know you are definitely watching it in theaters, and here is the only release guide you need before you watch it.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day India Release Guide
This guide answers all of the questions Indian fans will have about Spider-Man Brand New Day, including release date, streaming, IMAX, premium formats, runtime, censorship, and more.
1) When is Spider-Man: Brand New Day releasing in India?
Spider-Man Brand New Day releases in India on 30 July 2026.
The film arrives one day before its US release, on a Thursday, continuing Sony Pictures’ trend of giving Indian audiences some early access. They know how popular this web-slinging hero is in India.
Booking opened up several weeks early in June with tickets for premium formats selling out quickly in all major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and more.
Even before the release, Brand New Day has sold 4 lakh tickets, making it a Top 3 Hollywood release for India.
2) In which languages will Brand New Day release in India?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be available in 6 languages in India: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Usually, even the most popular Marvel movies get dubbed in just Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. But they know how popular this superhero is. So, they are adding as many regional languages as possible.
Spidey movies attract a wide range of audiences, from kids to adults and even your grandparents. To reach as many viewers as possible, Sony has added as many new languages as possible.
This also reflects the growing popularity of Hollywood movies in our country.
3) Who is in the Cast?
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for his fourth solo outing, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds.
The film also welcomes Sadie Sink in a mysterious undisclosed role, while Jon Bernthal makes his first big-screen MCU appearance as Frank Castle/The Punisher.

Returning Marvel actors Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk) and Michael Mando (Mac Gargan/Scorpion) also play key roles.
4) Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day a Sequel or a Standalone movie?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is both a sequel and a soft fresh restart.
Technically, it’s Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 and a sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The film continues after the events of that movie, where Peter sacrificed his personal life to save the multiverse. Now, four years have passed, and he is living alone, without his friends, but he still has to save New York City.
But in a way, it’s also a fresh start. Even though Spider-Man’s old friends are here, Spidey will make new friends, including Bruce Banner and Frank Castle.
The film is also directed by a new director, Destin Daniel Cretton, bringing a fresh creative vision to the franchise. The previous Tom Holland Spider-Man films, collectively known as the Homecoming trilogy, were all directed by Jon Watts.
5) What is the story?
As mentioned above, Brand New Day picks up after the emotional ending of the last film.
The official synopsis from Sony Pictures reads:
“It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him, and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him, sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control.
But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”
The main plot follows Peter Parker adjusting to the new world where nobody remembers that he is Spider-Man. He is in emotional pain from watching MJ and Ned move on.
But he still has to save the city from villains such as Scorpion, Boomerang, Tombstone, The Hand, maybe also the Hulk, and a mysterious character played by Sadie Sink.
Also, as the trailer suggests, Peter is undergoing a mysterious transformation, both physically and psychologically, that changes his powers.
6) Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day censored in India?
Yes, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been censored in India. CBFC (or India’s Censor Board) has removed 8 seconds of a romantic kissing scene featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya.
Just like how the kissing scenes were cut from Superman last year, the same happened with Spider-Man now. Both Marvel and DC’s fan-favorite superheroes can’t even kiss in India.
Other than that, the board has removed some strong expletives from the English audio and added a static anti-liquor label during certain scenes. But that is normal for most Hollywood releases in India.

After all these changes, Spider-Man: Brand New Day received a UA 13+ certificate. This age rating in India means that anyone can watch it in the theater, but parents are advised to use their discretion if children are below the age of 13.
Apart from these cuts, the story, actions, and the narrative remain the same.
7) What is the runtime?
The official runtime is 2 hours and 24 minutes.
This makes it just 4 minutes shorter than No Way Home, but longer than any previous Spider-Man movies.
I think it’s a perfect runtime to cover all the important plots while keeping things fast-paced.
8) Are there any post-credit scenes?
There is only one post-credit scene in Spider-Man Brand New Day.
This happens at the very end, and it has already been leaked online.
There is no mid-credit scene, and many are claiming that the post-credit scene is also not that worth it. So, you can leave the theatre as soon as the credits start rolling.
9) When and where will it stream on OTT in India?
Spider-Man Brand New Day’s streaming release is not yet announced.
But most likely, it will drop on Netflix as they have acquired the Pay-1 rights from Sony. However, after a few months, the movie might be added to SonyLiv’s library and even JioHotstar.
It will also take at least 3 months for the digital premiere. So, expect it online by November or later.
This section will be updated once the company confirms:
10) Is Spider-Man Brand New Day coming in IMAX in India?
No, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is not releasing in IMAX theatres in India.
Although the film has an IMAX version, Indian audiences will not be able to watch it in the format because Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has secured a multi-week exclusive IMAX run. So, as long as The Odyssey is in IMAX, Spidey can’t. The same has happened in the US and many other countries.
However, the IMAX release is happening in China and South Korea because The Odyssey is delayed there.
But because of not having the IMAX screens, Sony Pictures has confirmed that Brand New Day will instead be released in several PLFs (Premium Large Format) screens in India.
This includes Dolby Cinema, ScreenX, 4DX, PVR PXL, EPIQ, Onyx, HDR by BARCO, ICE and more.

Sony has also made the expanded 1.90:1 version available for Flat screens. So, you should find a Flat screen nearby, and it will play the movie in the full frame from top to bottom, just like IMAX.
